A Benefit of AXUG Premium Membership

AXUG Premium Member attendees of Summit 2012 will have an opportunity to visit Microsoft’s global headquarters in Redmond, Washington.  Take some time to explore the campus and be inspired in the place where the Microsoft story began and continues to unfold.

The Microsoft Campus Field Trip is a free, optional AXUG Summit 2012 activity available to attendees on Thursday, October 18.  You must reserve your spot on the tour in advance – you can do so during the AXUG Summit 2012 registration process.  If you have already registered for the conference, continue to Return Registration Services to add this Agenda item to your existing registration record.  Reservations for the Microsoft Campus Field Trip are available on a first-come, first-served basis and AXUG Premium members will receive priority.

Basic Members of AXUG may register for the Campus Field Trip and will be put on a waiting list should space be available.  You will be notified by eventmanager@axug.com of your status on the waiting list.

Thursday, October 18 – Please choose one of the departure times below*:

12:30 p.m.           First Group departure from Washington State Convention Center
Participants of this time slot will receive a $10 food voucher for use in the Commons in lieu of  lunch in the meal hall

2:15 p.m.             Second Group departure from Washington State Convention Center

4:15 p.m.             Third Group departure from Washington State Convention Center

*The tour will last approximately three hours, including travel time.  Reservations are available on a first-come, first served basis.  Please check your conference session schedule to determine the time best for you.

On the Microsoft Campus Field Trip, you’ll:

Take a Campus Bus Tour
Field trip participants will be picked up at the Convention Center and will travel by bus to the Microsoft Redmond campus.  Once on campus, you’ll experience a guided driving tour to see where some of the most landmark developments in Microsoft’s history have originated.

Explore the Commons
After the bus tour, you’ll have an opportunity to explore the heart of the campus.  The Commons, the new “town center” of Microsoft’s Redmond campus, features a variety of retail dining options, convenience services, meeting spaces, and sports facilities—all situated in an inviting urban-market atmosphere.

Visit the Microsoft Visitor Center
Walk through the doors of the Microsoft Visitor Center and you are surrounded by the sights, sounds, and demonstrations of the same idea: Microsoft believes that everyone in the world has potential and that great software can help you realize that potential.

Once inside, you can explore the vision, products, culture, and history of Microsoft. The exhibits display everything from the latest Microsoft Research innovations to the very first personal computer. Explore hands-on exhibits featuring some of the company’s most exciting technologies for home and business.

Gain Insider Access to the Microsoft Company Store
Your visit will give you exclusive access to the employee-only discount area of the Microsoft Company Store!

At the Redmond campus location, you will find one of the largest selections of Microsoft-branded PC hardware in any retail store, along with popular home-use software titles such as Windows 7, Office 2010, Office for Mac, and Streets and Trips. XBOX 360 accessories and a selection of XBOX games are also offered at significant savings.

Field Trip participants will qualify for a pass that grants you access to the special discounts normally reserved only for Microsoft employees. Due to the significant discount available, each attendee is allowed to spend up to a maximum of $120. *Restrictions apply.

*Attendees will be given a voucher that allows you access to the employee only discount area to spend up to $120 of your own money on select Microsoft products.
*All attendees must have a valid driver’s license that matches the name on the voucher.
*If using a credit card for payment, the name on the card must match the name on your voucher and identification.
*If you are employed by a government agency or a school or university, you are not eligible for the discount pass due to Microsoft policy.
*You will automatically be added to the voucher list by making your campus field trip reservation – vouchers will be provided on site at the campus.
